Late to the Fortnite party
Gaming update for first week of May:
Reinstalled Witcher 3. Got a bit further in the main campaign.
Bought Destiny 2 Legacy Collection. Progressed a bit further through Shadowkeep. Of note: Shadowkeep quests are not as straight forward as the Forsaken expansion was. Also, fuck the moon. I've died to falling more than enemies.
A friend at work told me that he was playing Fortnite since the Zero Build patch came online. I've always talked shit about the game. How could a free game that sells skins, and has a big following of young kids be any good? So I tried it... and I'm ashamed to admit that its really fun. The controls work well. The gun play is good. There is lots of stuff to explore, every round is different. I haven't had this much fun since my Unreal Tournament days. And since Epic also made Unreal Tournament, there are some easter eggs for their heritage here and there.
I did end up dropping some cash for a Big Lebowski-esque skin, and the Battle Pass for the season. This has added another dimension of quests and collectibles on top of the shooting game. So far, I may win a game once a week.
